Midwest Classic Events was established in 2014 after 14 years of successful wrestling tournaments and camps. MWC Events oversees wrestling tournaments and camps, which helps raise the level of competition here in the Midwest region and helps fund a collegiate wrestling program at the University of Nebraska at Kearney.

A special thank you to our loyal supporters that have attended the MWC events over the years and helped spread the word about our events. Annually, MWC Events have over 3000 young wrestlers competing and participating in tournaments and camps, and many of these wrestlers have gone on to earn scholarships and All-American honors at the collegiate level. In addition to all the successful wrestlers that have participated in MWC Events, there are around 15 states represented annually. We have had special guests at our events, which include Danny Hodge, Mark Manning, and Dan Gable.

100% of the funds raised from these events help support the UNK wrestling program in many ways. Cutbacks, nation wide, have left many programs crippled and in a position that has put wrestling programs on the back-burner. This event gives the Loper’s the additional funds needed to maintain a level of competitiveness in the NCAA Division II ranks. Not only are the funds used to supplement scholarships, but they help cover travel expenses, uniforms, equipment, and general operational expenses.
